A RESOLUTION
Celebrating the love, legacy, and faithful commitment of the 50th wedding anniversary of
Mr. Erik L. Peterson and Mrs. Karen K. Peterson; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Mr. Erik L. Peterson and Mrs. Karen K. Peterson were married on January 31,
1976, in San Francisco, California, moved to Georgia in 1980, and in 2026 joyfully celebrate
50 years of marriage; and
WHEREAS, their marriage has been firmly grounded in their shared faith in Jesus Christ,
serving as a living testimony of Christian love, humility, forgiveness, and sacrificial
commitment to one another; and
WHEREAS, they have been blessed with a loving family, including their children and
children-in-law, Nels, Jenn, Kort, Dorothy, Julianna, and Rand as well as five cherished
grandchildren, James, Elizabeth, Rosemary, Oscar, and Beatrice, who have flourished under
the guidance and enduring example of their faithful marriage; and
WHEREAS, their children deeply appreciate and honor their parents for the sacrifices they
have made, the values they have instilled, and the Christ centered legacy they continue to
pass down, expressing gratitude for the profound example of love, faith, perseverance, and
obedience to God demonstrated throughout their lives together; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson have shown unwavering devotion not only to their
family, but also to their church community, faithfully serving and reflecting the love of Jesus
through their actions, relationships, and steadfast walk of faith; and
WHEREAS, their lives together stand as a remarkable legacy of love, faithfulness, and
service to God and others, leaving an enduring impact on generations to come; and
WHEREAS, it is most fitting and proper to recognize and celebrate Mr. and Mrs. Peterson
for 50 years of marriage and the extraordinary example they have set.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate Mr. Erik L. Peterson and Mrs. Karen K. Peterson upon the joyous occasion of
their 50th wedding anniversary and extend sincere best wishes for continued blessings, good
health, and many more years of love, faith, and happiness together.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mr. Erik L.
Peterson and Mrs. Karen K. Peterson.
