By: Senators Parent of the 44th, Jackson of the 41st, McLaurin of the 14th, Harrell of the
40th, Wicks of the 34th and others
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Kelly Walsh; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Kelly Walsh has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital
role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of
the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, Kelly Walsh currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the
Decatur Downtown Development Authorities and a residential agent with Keller Williams
Metro Atlanta; and
WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced
dramatically by her 2018 election and 2021 re-election as Decatur City Commission District
1 Representative; and
WHEREAS, Kelly was awarded the Hometown Hero award from the City of Decatur in
2015, and has been honored for her service on the Decatur Active Living Advisory Board,
the Clairemont Elementary PTA, and a number of non-profit boards such as Girls on the
Run, Atlanta Track Club, and the Decatur-DeKalb YMCA; and
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
recognize and commend Kelly Walsh for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated
public service and extend their sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and
success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Kelly Walsh.
