## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution formally recognizes and commends Joann Herrell, a longtime real estate professional from the Villa Rica area, for her decades-long career and community involvement.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution passed by the Georgia Senate honoring Joann Herrell, who spent more than 50 years working as a real estate professional and formerly owned Westberry Realty, a Century 21 franchise. The resolution praises her leadership, integrity, and positive outlook, as well as her role in her family and her church community.
The resolution does not change any Georgia law. It simply states the Senate's recognition of Herrell and directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare a copy of the resolution for her.

### What it does

- Formally states that the Georgia Senate recognizes and commends Joann Herrell for her career and personal qualities.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to Joann Herrell.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement; it is a symbolic honor only.

### Who it affects

This resolution affects Joann Herrell, the honoree, and has no direct effect on the general public, businesses, or government agencies since it does not change any law or policy.

### Why it matters

The resolution has no practical legal effect on Georgians; it is a symbolic gesture by the Senate to publicly honor an individual's career and community contributions rather than a policy change affecting the public.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe Herrell's 50-plus year real estate career and her former ownership of Westberry Realty, a Century 21 franchise.
- The resolving clause has the Senate recognize and commend Herrell for her positivity, hard work, and personal philosophy.
- A further resolving clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to make a copy available for distribution to Herrell.
