A RESOLUTION
Recognizing March 18, 2026, as Georgia Alpha Gamma Rho Day at the capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity is a national social and professional fraternity founded to promote the advancement of agriculture and the development of leadership, scholarship, and service among young men; and
WHEREAS, the Alpha Eta Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho was established at the University of Georgia in 1927 and will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027; and
WHEREAS, the Alpha Eta Chapter is the only social and professional agricultural fraternity at the University of Georgia and has played a significant role in preparing generations of young men for careers in agriculture and related industries; and
WHEREAS, members of Alpha Gamma Rho are guided by the purpose of building better men and, through them, a better agriculture, contributing to the strength of Georgia's agricultural economy and communities across the state; and
WHEREAS, the achievements and service of the Alpha Eta Chapter merit recognition by the State of Georgia for its long-standing commitment to leadership, education, and agricultural excellence.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize March 18, 2026, as Georgia Alpha Gamma Rho Day at the capitol. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Alpha Eta Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.
