A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Darvin Eason; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Darvin Eason on February 16, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Darvin Eason was born on December 11, 1939, in Screven, Georgia, a beloved
son of J. B. and Mildred Eason; and
WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Darvin was an active member of Lakeview
Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Nancy, and was blessed with
two remarkable children, Robbie and Wendy, and many wonderful grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, he served as vice-president of Water for Life Haiti, where he tirelessly guided
the group in its mission to provide clean drinking water, irrigation for farming, education,
and other means of assistance to the people of southern Haiti; and
WHEREAS, Darvin also served as Chairman of the Board and Director Emeritus of the
Georgia Agribusiness Council, President of the Georgia Peanut Producer's Association, and
Chairman of the Board for South Central Georgia Gin Co.; and
WHEREAS, deeply involved in and loving what he did, Darvin was awarded the Blair W.
Davis Outstanding Service Award from the Georgia Plant Food Educational Society in 2000
and was named Progressive Farmer Magazine's Man of the Year in 1996; and
WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he
made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Darvin Eason will long be remembered for
his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great
fortune of knowing him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
join in honoring the life and memory of Darvin Eason and express their deepest and most
sincere regret at his passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of
Darvin Eason.
