Robertson of the 29th and others
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Georgia Advancing Communities Together, Inc., and
designating February 25, 2026, as Georgia ACT Housing Day at the Capitol; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Georgia Advancing Communities Together, Inc., (Georgia ACT) is a statewide
member organization for nonprofit affordable housing and community development
organizations; and
WHEREAS, stable and affordable housing is a proven foundation for improved health,
educational outcomes, and economic mobility, and reducing homelessness benefits
communities socially and economically; and
WHEREAS, Georgia ACT focuses on connecting and convening Community Development
Corporations and nonprofits to address needs and build organizational capacity to improve
life outcomes for residents in communities across Georgia and leverage limited resources for
Georgia families; and
WHEREAS, Georgia ACT continues to advocate for the development of safe and decent
housing in Georgia while ensuring neighborhoods remain a catalyst for revitalization in all
communities; and
WHEREAS, Georgia ACT will host its 2026 Housing Day at the Capitol on February 25,
2026, providing an opportunity for members of the General Assembly to hear directly from
constituents and housing practitioners about the importance of expanding housing supply,
preventing homelessness, and supporting community development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
recognize and commend Georgia Advancing Communities Together, Inc., and designate
February 25, 2026, as Georgia ACT Housing Day at the Capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Georgia
Advancing Communities Together, Inc.
