## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution would name a stretch of State Route 155 in Henry County the Reverend James Miller Highway, honoring the longtime pastor's decades of ministry.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution honors Reverend James H. Miller, a Henry County pastor who served congregations including Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Holly Grove Baptist Church, and Zion Grove Baptist Church over several decades.
The resolution dedicates the portion of State Route 155 between State Route 401/I-75 and State Route 42/US-23 in Henry County as the Reverend James Miller Highway. It directs the Georgia Department of Transportation to put up and maintain signs marking the dedication, and it directs the Secretary of the Senate to send copies of the resolution to Reverend Miller and to the Department of Transportation.

### What it does

- Dedicates the stretch of State Route 155 in Henry County between State Route 401/I-75 and State Route 42/US-23 as the Reverend James Miller Highway.
- Directs the Georgia Department of Transportation to erect and maintain signs marking the newly named highway.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to distribute copies of the resolution to Reverend Miller and the Department of Transportation.

### Who it affects

The resolution primarily honors Reverend James H. Miller. It also directly involves the Georgia Department of Transportation, which must install and maintain the highway signage, and drivers using that stretch of State Route 155 in Henry County.

### Why it matters

The practical effect is limited to renaming a specific road segment and adding signage; it does not change any laws, funding, or regulations affecting the public beyond that symbolic recognition of Reverend Miller's decades of pastoral service in Henry County.
