## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution recognizes March 9, 2026 as Young Democrats of Georgia Day at the state capitol, honoring the youth political organization's engagement in state politics.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution passed by the Georgia Senate. It does not change any law. It formally designates March 9, 2026 as Young Democrats of Georgia Day at the state capitol, marking a day when members of the Young Democrats of Georgia, an organization for people ages 14 to 40 who support the Democratic Party, plan to visit the capitol.
The resolution recites the group's goals of engaging young people in politics and notes that many of its members have worked or currently work at the capitol as aides, interns, staff, or elected members of the General Assembly. It directs the Secretary of the Senate to make copies of the resolution available to the Young Democrats of Georgia, the public, and the press.

### Who it affects

The resolution names the Young Democrats of Georgia, an organization of people ages 14 to 40 who support the Democratic Party, and the Secretary of the Senate, who must distribute copies of the resolution.
