## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution formally recognizes and commends Denise Rumbaugh of Gwinnett County for her years of civic, educational, and political service.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution is a ceremonial honor passed by the Georgia Senate. It does not change any Georgia law. Instead, it recognizes Denise Rumbaugh for her service in Gwinnett County, including her role as Vice Chairwoman of the Gwinnett County Zoning Board of Appeals, her appointment to the Citizens Budget Review Committee, her work on education oversight and disciplinary committees for Gwinnett County Public Schools, and her leadership in the Gwinnett County Republican Party from 2021 to 2025.
The resolution also notes her earlier community involvement, including co-directing the Suwanee Pageant and serving as president and vice president of her homeowners association. It closes by directing the Secretary of the Senate to provide Rumbaugh with an official copy of the resolution as a keepsake of the honor.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Denise Rumbaugh for her civic, educational, and political service in Gwinnett County.
- States the Senate's best wishes for her continued health and happiness.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute an official copy of the resolution to Rumbaugh.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement; it is a ceremonial statement rather than a change to the Georgia code.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Denise Rumbaugh, a Gwinnett County civic and political figure. It has no legal effect on the public, agencies, or businesses; it is a personal honor issued by the Georgia Senate.

### Why it matters

Resolutions like this one carry no legal weight and change nothing about Georgia law or government operations. Their significance is symbolic, serving as an official, on-the-record statement of appreciation from the state Senate for an individual's community service.

### Key provisions

- The resolution recites Rumbaugh's roles, including Vice Chairwoman of the Gwinnett County Zoning Board of Appeals and member of the Citizens Budget Review Committee.
- It lists her education-related service, including the Gwinnett Education Management System Oversight Committee and the Public Schools Disciplinary Action Committee.
- It notes her leadership as Second Vice Chairwoman of the Gwinnett County Republican GOP from 2021 to 2025.
- The resolving clause formally commends her and extends well wishes; a further clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to distribute a copy to her.
