## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution formally recognizes Dr. Sharon D. Lise, a Navy veteran and community volunteer, for her military service and humanitarian work.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate rather than a law that changes anyone's rights or obligations. It honors Dr. Sharon D. Lise (H.C.), who served 7.5 years in the United States Navy as an Electrician's Mate 3rd Class and now works as an SAP Materials Master with Pratt Industries.
The resolution recounts her volunteer work with Soldiers' Angels Charity, her role as a founding and lifetime member of Omicron Nu Xi Military Sorority, and her leadership positions with the National Association of Black Military Women and the Fort Myers Police Athletic League. The Senate formally resolves to recognize her for her service and leadership, and directs the Secretary of the Senate to provide her a copy of the resolution.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Dr. Sharon D. Lise (H.C.) for her military service and community leadership.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute an official copy of the resolution to her.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement; it is purely a ceremonial statement by the Senate.

### Who it affects

The resolution names Dr. Sharon D. Lise (H.C.) directly. It also references organizations she is involved with, including Soldiers' Angels Charity, Omicron Nu Xi Military Sorority, the National Association of Black Military Women, and the Fort Myers Police Athletic League.

### Why it matters

The resolution has no legal or practical effect on Georgians generally. Its significance is symbolic: it gives official Senate recognition to one individual's military service and community volunteer work, and provides her a keepsake copy of the honor.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe her Navy service, current employment, and volunteer and leadership roles in several organizations.
- The resolving clause states the Senate recognizes her for honorable service and humanitarian leadership.
- A further resolution directs the Secretary of the Senate to make a copy available for distribution to her.
