Randall became the first African American female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus; and WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify the leadership and inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and WHEREAS, Sydney Jakes is passionate attorney, devoted servant leader, and dedicated member of The Twenty Pearls Foundation, Inc., and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Tau Epsilon Omega Chapter; and WHEREAS, she is a Senior Attorney and operational leader at the Law Offices of Samuel Jakes, Jr., LLC; and WHEREAS, with a heart for service and a steadfast commitment to progress, Sydney Jakes has orchestrated dynamic programs that address critical needs within her community; and WHEREAS, she has been instrumental in leading Heart Health Week, the TEO Little Library book drives, and the Blessings in a Backpack initiative; and WHEREAS, as a Co-chairmen for AKA Day at the Capitol, she passionately advances the causes of voter equity and education as well as amplifies the voices of marginalized communities; and WHEREAS, Sydney Jakes' leadership is a beacon of inspiration that serves as a shining example of integrity, dedication, and unwavering commitment to others; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.
