## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution congratulates the Brookwood High School boys swim team for winning the 2026 GHSA Class 6A State Swimming Championship, the team's 10th overall state title.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate, not a change to state law. It formally congratulates the Brookwood High School boys swim team for capturing the 2026 GHSA Class 6A State Swimming Championship, describing the team's season and highlighting individual and relay performances, including a state record set by senior Baylor Stanton in the 200 IM.
The resolution directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare a copy for distribution to the team as a keepsake. It does not create any new rule, funding, or legal requirement; its only effect is the formal expression of congratulations by the Senate.

### What it does

- Formally congratulates the Brookwood High School boys swim team for winning the 2026 GHSA Class 6A State Swimming Championship.
- Recites specific team and individual achievements, including a state record in the 200 IM and relay victory times.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to the team.
- Extends the Senate's best wishes for the team's continued success, without creating any legal requirement or funding.

### Who it affects

The Brookwood High School boys swim team, its coaches and student athletes named in the resolution, and the school community are the direct subjects. It has no effect on other schools, agencies, or the general public.

### Why it matters

The resolution has no legal or financial effect; it is a public, official recognition by the Georgia Senate of a local high school athletic achievement. For the team and school community, it serves as a formal honor and keepsake rather than a change to any policy or program.

### Key provisions

- The resolution's whereas clauses recount the team's season, including its 10th overall state championship and individual results.
- The resolving clause has the Senate congratulate the team and wish it continued success.
- A further resolving clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to make a copy available for distribution to the team.
