WHEREAS, the FunkJazz Kafé Arts & Music Festival was founded in 1994, in Atlanta, Georgia, as a Music and Arts Festival, and this year it is celebrating its 31st anniversary; and WHEREAS, the FunkJazz Kafé's mission is to serve as a revolutionary Music and Arts festival with a commitment to creating a space and uplifting music, film, and community, as well as preserving art and culture, and WHEREAS, the FunkJazz Kafé Arts & Music Festival has made a profound impact on the citizens of Georgia and countless individuals, providing a signature annual event that has expanded into a premier cultural celebration attracting thousands of attendees and featuring nationally acclaimed musicians, DJs, visual artists, designers, and cultural innovators; and WHEREAS, the FunkJazz Kafé Arts & Music Festival has played a vital role in the community, fostering an intergenerational dialogue for artists, shaping Atlanta's cultural identity, and cultivating and honoring Black culture; and WHEREAS, each year thousands attend the Kafé Arts & Music Festival in Atlanta, serving to economically vitalize the community and support local artists, vendors, and other small businesses; and WHEREAS, the continued success and longevity of the FunkJazz Kafé reflect extraordinary vision, leadership, resilience, and dedication in advancing the arts amid evolving cultural and economic landscapes.
