A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Cotrina Yvette Echols Norris; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Cotrina Yvette Echols Norris honorably served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty within the United States Army Reserve Nurse Corps, earning her commission in 1996 and exemplifying dedication to duty through her compassionate medical care; and
WHEREAS, during her eight years of service as a critical care nurse, she participated in an overseas medical mission to Ecuador, during which she provided care to more than 7,000 patients, and received the Army Commendation Medal; and
WHEREAS, following her military career, she has sustained her lifelong commitment to healthcare, veterans, and community well-being through ongoing service, volunteerism, and civic engagement; and
WHEREAS, she has recently completed the Registered Nurse Reentry Program at Clayton State University, and she plans to continue serving those who have served this nation through future employment at a Veterans Hospital; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this veteran and healthcare professional be appropriately honored for her military service and consistent dedication to her fellow citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Cotrina Yvette Echols Norris for her honorable military service, dedication to healthcare, and her commitment to serving veterans and communities as well as extend best wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Cotrina Yvette Echols Norris.
