## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution recognizes Goodwill of North Georgia for 100 years of workforce development and community service across the state.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate, not a change to state law. It honors Goodwill of North Georgia, a nonprofit founded in Atlanta in 1925, on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.
The resolution recounts the organization's history and impact, including serving more than 700,000 Georgians, facilitating over 300,000 job placements, and operating more than 70 retail stores, 40 donation centers, and 14 career centers across a 45-county region in North Georgia. The Senate formally commends the organization and directs the Secretary of the Senate to send it a copy of the resolution as a keepsake.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Goodwill of North Georgia on its 100th anniversary of operation in the state.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to the organization.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement, since it is a commendation rather than legislation.

### Who it affects

### Why it matters

The resolution has no binding legal effect and changes no Georgia law. Its significance is symbolic: it is an official statement from the Georgia Senate publicly acknowledging an organization's long history of workforce development work in the state.
