Senate Resolution 909
By: Senators Parent of the 44th, Jackson of the 41st, Parkes of the 7th, Halpern of the 39th,
Orrock of the 36th and others
A RESOLUTION
Honoring Sameera Fazili for her public service and expertise in community development;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Sameera Fazili is an attorney, public servant, and economic and financial expert
with expertise that spans multiple industries including financial services, manufacturing,
clean energy, housing, small business, transportation, and logistics; and
WHEREAS, she has held numerous prestigious positions, including as a Senior Policy
Analyst at the United States Department of the Treasury, Senior Advisor to the Under
Secretary of International Affairs, and within the White House National Economic Council
as a Senior Policy Advisor during the Obama Administration; and
WHEREAS, following her work with the Obama administration, Sameera was hired for a
leadership role at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta as well as returned to the White House
in 2021 as the Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the National
Economic Council during the Biden-Harris Administration; and
WHEREAS, after ending her most recent tour of service at the White House, Sameera
continues her public service and career through volunteerism and entrepreneurship, while
raising her three children; and
WHEREAS, Sameera's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience
and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state
and county have earned her the respect and admiration of all who know her; and
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
honor Sameera Fazili for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service and
extend their sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sameera Fazili.
