## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution congratulates the Coastal Area District Development Authority on its 50th anniversary of providing small business lending in coastal Georgia and neighboring areas.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution is a ceremonial statement from the Georgia Senate rather than a change to state law. It recognizes the Coastal Area District Development Authority, Inc. (CADDA), a nonprofit founded in 1976, as it marks its 50th anniversary in 2026.
The resolution describes CADDA's mission of providing economic development loans to small businesses and industries in Georgia, North Florida, and coastal South Carolina, and credits the organization with funding more than 1,300 small business loans, investing over $526 million into the region, and helping create or retain more than 9,300 jobs. The Senate formally congratulates and commends CADDA and directs the Secretary of the Senate to send the organization a copy of the resolution.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names the Coastal Area District Development Authority, Inc., its employees, and the small businesses and communities in coastal Georgia, North Florida, and coastal South Carolina that it has funded through economic development loans.

### Why it matters
