A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Mike Dobbs; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mike Dobbs joined Camp Southern Ground in early 2016, when the organization was still in its infancy, to help bring Zac Brown's bold vision to life; and

WHEREAS, Camp Southern Ground was built on the vision of a place where children of all abilities could experience the magic of an inclusive summer camp, and where veterans and their families could find renewal, purpose, and growth after extraordinary sacrifice; and

WHEREAS, Mike focused on building a strong and sustainable foundation for the camp, expanding diversified fundraising, developing an independent and high-caliber Board of Directors, cultivating a mission-driven team and culture, and designing and launching transformational programs that would deliver on the camp's promise; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure, he led the organization to raise over $77 million to build out the campus and provide mission driven programming; strengthened the organization's governance and credibility; expanded the board to include nationally respected leaders across business, philanthropy, and healthcare; and established Advisory Councils of subject matter experts to deepen strategic guidance and thought leadership; and

WHEREAS, most importantly, Mike helped transition Camp Southern Ground's fundraising model from one primarily dependent on its founder to a diversified and sustainable base of corporate, foundation, and family philanthropy - ensuring long-term stability and growth; and

WHEREAS, beyond the capital raised, the programs launched, and the accolades earned, Mike considers his proudest accomplishment to be building a curated team of service-oriented, high-impact professionals who care deeply about the mission and an organization that recognizes and leverages the unique strengths of every individual it serves and every individual who serves within it; and

WHEREAS, after ten years of leadership, Mike leaves behind not just buildings or programs, but a durable culture, a strengthened institution, and a community positioned to scale and profoundly impact lives for generations to come.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Mike Dobbs for his dedicated service to Camp Southern Ground and extend their sincere best wishes for his continued health, happiness, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mike Dobbs.
