A RESOLUTION

Commending the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. and the 100 Black Men of America Inc. and recognizing March 10, 2026, as their Joint Day at the Georgia State Capitol; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. (NCBW100) and the 100 Black Men of America Inc. are two of the nation's most esteemed advocacy and mentorship organizations, committed to advancing equity, education, and economic empowerment for African Americans; and

WHEREAS, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc., under the esteemed leadership of National President Virginia Harris, has dedicated itself to empowering Black women and girls through education, health, economic development, and civic engagement through its Georgia-based chapters, including the Decatur DeKalb Chapter, MECCA Chapter, Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter, Northwest Georgia Chapter, Savannah Chapter, and Stone Mountain Lithonia Chapter; and

WHEREAS, the Stone Mountain Lithonia Chapter of NCBW100 is serving as the host chapter for this occasion, with Cecilia Anderson as its president and under the leadership of Dr. Dee Dawkins-Haigler as the chair of the event, with Teresa Hardy and Frieda Aiden serving as co-chairs; and

WHEREAS, the 100 Black Men of America Inc., led by Chairman of the Board Milton H. Jones Jr., has made an immeasurable impact in mentoring and uplifting young African American men through its Georgia-based chapters, including the 100 Black Men of Albany Southwest Georgia Inc.; 100 Black Men of Atlanta Inc.; 100 Black Men of Augusta Inc.; 100 Black Men of Columbus, GA, Inc.; 100 Black Men of DeKalb Inc.; 100 Black Men of Douglasville Inc.; 100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Inc.; 100 Black Men of Milledgeville-Oconee Inc.; 100 Black Men of New Rock, Georgia, Inc.; 100 Black Men of North Metro Inc.; 100 Black Men of Rome-NW GA Inc.; 100 Black Men of Savannah Inc.; 100 Black Men of South Metro Inc.; 100 Black Men of Southeast GA Inc.; 100 Black Men of Valdosta Inc.; 100 Black Men of Warner Robins Inc.; and 100 Black Men of West Georgia Inc.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. and the 100 Black Men of America Inc. for their continued dedication and invaluable contributions and recognize March 10, 2026, as their Joint Day at the Georgia State Capitol. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Virginia Harris, National President of NCBW100; Milton H. Jones Jr., Chairman of the Board of 100 Black Men of America Inc.; and the Stone Mountain Lithonia Chapter of NCBW100.
