By: Senators Anavitarte of the 31st, Bearden of the 30th, Walker III of the 20th, Robertson
of the 29th, Kirkpatrick of the 32nd and others
A RESOLUTION
Commending and recognizing Dr. Ryan Dyer of North Paulding High School for his
outstanding achievements in and his contribution to athletics in the state of Georgia; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, Dr. Ryan Dyer was named Athletic Director of the Year for the 2024-2025
season, highlighting his outstanding commitment to developing athletics at North Paulding
High School; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Dyer has faithfully served North Paulding High School for 11 years and
currently enters his third year as Athletic Director and Assistant Principal, demonstrating
steadfast leadership and commitment to student success; and
WHEREAS, he previously served eight years as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at North
Paulding High School, building a competitive and disciplined program rooted in hard work
and accountability; and
WHEREAS, during the 2018-2019 season, he guided his team to an impressive 20-8 overall
record, a state playoff appearance, and both region regular season and region tournament
runner-up finishes; and
WHEREAS, his 2018-2019 team achieved an outstanding cumulative 3.8 grade point
average, exemplifying excellence not only in athletics but also in academics; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his leadership and success, he was named Paulding County
Coach of the Year and was a finalist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Coach of the Year
Award in 2018-2019; and
WHEREAS, he has been instrumental in establishing Paulding County’s first-ever youth
basketball league, which has grown to serve over 600 young athletes and strengthened
community engagement in youth sports; and
WHEREAS, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to educational leadership by earning
his Doctoral Degree from California Coast University in 2016, a master’s degree from Troy
University in 2009, and an Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University
in 2011; and
WHEREAS, a native of Dalton, Georgia, he is devoted to his family, sharing his life with his
wife, Candice Lumpkin Dyer, and their two children, Ava Bray Dyer and Bryce Dyer, while
continuing to serve as a role model within his community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
commend and recognize Dr. Ryan Dyer for his outstanding leadership, dedication to student
achievement, blue-collar mentality, and lasting contributions to athletics and education at
North Paulding High School and in Paulding County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr. Ryan Dyer.
