A RESOLUTION
Honoring Karon Mauney for her outstanding leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedicated
service to the Cartersville and Bartow County community; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Karon Mauney has devoted nearly two decades to strengthening the economic
vitality, civic engagement, and cultural life of Northwest Georgia through a combination of
public service, nonprofit leadership, and entrepreneurial initiative; and
WHEREAS, she currently serves as Executive Assistant for Parks Sales at the
Cartersville-Bartow County Convention and Visitors Bureau, a role she has held since May
2018, where she plays an integral part in promoting tourism, supporting economic
development, and advancing Cartersville and Bartow County as premier destinations for
visitors, businesses, and community events; and
WHEREAS, since June 2013, she has also served as Administrative Assistant for the Bartow
County Fire Department, providing vital administrative leadership and support to one of the
county's most essential public safety agencies; and
WHEREAS, her service to Bartow County Government includes her prior role as
Administrative Assistant in Human Resources from 2010 to 2013, reflecting her longstanding
commitment to effective public administration and workforce support; and
WHEREAS, Karon Mauney previously served as Financial Development Director for the
American Red Cross from 2005 to 2009, leading fundraising and community outreach efforts
that supported humanitarian and disaster relief initiatives; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her public service career, she has demonstrated exceptional
entrepreneurial leadership as the Founder and Owner of the Northwest Georgia Women's
Expo since 2010, an annual event that highlights women-owned businesses, artisans, and
entrepreneurs while fostering networking, empowerment, and economic opportunity
throughout the region; and
WHEREAS, she is also the Founder and Event Coordinator of Christmas Village,
Cartersville, established in 2017, a widely attended holiday shopping event that supports
local vendors and small businesses while promoting seasonal tourism and community
engagement; and
WHEREAS, through her leadership of large-scale community events, her dedication to
public service, and her steadfast support of small businesses and local organizations, Karon
Mauney has become a driving force in promoting tourism, economic growth, and civic pride
in Bartow County; and
WHEREAS, her professionalism, creativity, and commitment to excellence have positively
impacted countless residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and visitors across
Northwest Georgia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
honnor and commend Karon Mauney for her exceptional leadership, entrepreneurial
achievements, and dedicated service to the citizens of Cartersville and Bartow County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Karon Mauney.
