## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A House resolution formally notifies the Georgia Senate that the House of Representatives has convened for the 2026 special legislative session and is ready to begin work.

### Plain-language summary

This is a short procedural resolution passed by the Georgia House of Representatives at the start of a special legislative session. It does not change any law or create any new rule for the public. Instead, it directs the Clerk of the House, the officer who handles the House's official records and communications, to send formal notice to the Senate that the House has convened and is ready to conduct legislative business.
This kind of resolution is a routine housekeeping step used at the opening of a session so that both chambers of the Georgia General Assembly can coordinate and begin their work together.

### What it does

- Instructs the Clerk of the House to formally notify the Georgia Senate that the House of Representatives has convened.
- States that the House is now ready for the transaction of legislative business in the special session.
- Creates no new law, requirement, or penalty affecting the public.

### Who it affects

This resolution affects only the internal operations of the Georgia General Assembly, specifically the Clerk of the House and the Senate, which receives the formal notice. It has no direct effect on the general public, businesses, or local governments.

### Why it matters

This resolution is purely procedural and lets the two chambers of the Georgia General Assembly formally acknowledge that the House has convened for the special session, allowing legislative business to begin. It has no practical effect on Georgians' daily lives.

### Key provisions

- The resolution's single operative clause directs the Clerk of the House to notify the Senate that the House has convened and is ready to transact business.
