## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally recognizes and commends Medical Marijuana Therapeutics, a family-owned medical cannabis practice, for its work with patients across the state.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives rather than a bill that changes state law. It honors Medical Marijuana Therapeutics (MMT), a Georgia-based medical cannabis certification practice founded in 2019, for its role in Georgia's Medical Cannabis Program.
The resolution describes MMT's leadership, including its chief medical officer, chief operating officer, and cannabis consultant, and praises the organization's patient care, education efforts, and statewide telemedicine services. It does not create any new legal requirements, funding, or regulatory changes. The House simply resolves to commend MMT and directs the Clerk of the House to provide the organization with an official copy of the resolution.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Medical Marijuana Therapeutics for its work in Georgia's medical cannabis field.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute an official copy of the resolution to the organization.
- Creates no new laws, regulations, funding, or requirements affecting Georgia's Medical Cannabis Program.

### Who it affects

This resolution directly names Medical Marijuana Therapeutics and its leaders, including its chief medical officer, chief operating officer, and cannabis consultant. It does not impose obligations on patients, other cannabis businesses, or state agencies.

### Why it matters

Because this is a commendation rather than a law, it has no direct effect on Georgia's Medical Cannabis Program, patient access, or state regulations. Its main practical effect is a formal, public honor recorded in House proceedings and shared with the organization.

### Key provisions

- The resolution's whereas clauses describe MMT's history, leadership, and services, including patient evaluations and statewide telemedicine.
- The resolving clause states the House recognizes and commends MMT for its contributions to Georgia citizens.
- A further resolution directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy available for distribution to MMT.
