WHEREAS, Jermaine Dupri is an internationally acclaimed GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter, producer, rapper, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and cultural icon whose influence on the music industry spans more than three decades; and WHEREAS, with over half a billion records sold worldwide, Jermaine Dupri has distinguished himself as one of the most successful and influential producers in modern music history, shaping the sound and direction of R&B, hip-hop, and pop music through his visionary creativity and business leadership; and WHEREAS, as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of So So Def Recordings, established in 1993 in Atlanta, Georgia, he built one of the most impactful independent record labels in music history, elevating Southern hip-hop and Atlanta's music scene onto the global stage; and WHEREAS, Jermaine Dupri has produced and written numerous chart-topping and culture-defining songs, including "We Belong Together" by Mariah Carey, recognized by Billboard as the "Song of the Decade" and one of the greatest songs of all time, as well as H.
