A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Robert Lund Hilton and Chris Ann Chapman Hilton; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Robert Lund and Chris Ann Chapman Hilton have been united in marriage since August 2, 1975, and throughout more than five decades together, they have exemplified the values of faith, family, service, and professional achievement; and
WHEREAS, born in Beloit, Wisconsin, in 1952, Robert Hilton honorably served in the United States Army before returning to Florida State University to complete his education and begin his successful professional career, establishing himself as a respected newspaper professional with the St. Petersburg Times, the Kansas City Star, and the Wichita Eagle; and
WHEREAS, following his accomplished career in journalism, he continued serving others as a financial advisor with Raymond James in St. Petersburg until his retirement in 2023; and
WHEREAS, Chris Ann Chapman Hilton was born in Columbus, Georgia, in 1953, and she graduated from Florida State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing, remaining a proud supporter of her alma mater throughout her life; and H. R. 47EX
WHEREAS, after returning to St. Petersburg, Florida, she devoted herself to her family while becoming deeply involved in the civic, cultural, and charitable organizations that strengthen her community; and
WHEREAS, her dedication to community service is reflected in her leadership as president of the Stuart Society of the Museum of Fine Arts and chaplain of the Saint Petersburg Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution as well as her longstanding support of numerous local organizations; and
WHEREAS, together, Robert and Chris Hilton have raised three sons, Scott, David, and Stephen, and have been blessed with eight grandchildren, whose lives reflect the strong foundation of faith, character, and love established by their family; and
WHEREAS, through their enduring partnership and many contributions to their professions, church, and community, Robert and Chris Hilton have earned the admiration and respect of all who know them and serve as an inspiration to others.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Robert Lund and Chris Ann Chapman Hilton for their many contributions on behalf of their community, state, and extended family as well as extend best wishes for continued health, happiness, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Robert Lund and Chris Ann Chapman Hilton.
