A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Ava Olivia Derbecker and Faris Vincent Derbecker; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the tragic loss of Ava Olivia Derbecker and Faris
Vincent Derbecker, beloved sister and brother whose kindness, joy, and loving spirits
enriched the lives of all who knew them; and
WHEREAS, Ava Olivia Derbecker was born on May 2, 2013, and Faris Vincent Derbecker
was born on December 14, 2016, and throughout their lives, they brought immeasurable
happiness to their family, friends, teammates, teachers, and community; and
WHEREAS, Ava was admired by her friends and family for her gracious nature,
compassionate heart, and fierce devotion to those she loved, and she possessed a rare ability
to uplift others through her encouragement, loyalty, and genuine care; and
WHEREAS, her passion for soccer exemplified the qualities that defined her character, for
she approached both competition and friendship with determination, support, and a sincere
commitment to those around her; and

WHEREAS, Faris was blessed with a curious mind, a creative spirit, and a remarkable
enthusiasm for learning, and he inspired others through his intelligence, humor, imagination,
and eagerness to explore the world around him; and
WHEREAS, devoted to his family and protective of those closest to him, he brought
adventure, laughter, and treasured memories to all who shared in his journey; and
WHEREAS, together, Ava and Faris shared a special bond rooted in their love for family,
faith, and soccer, and whether at home, among friends, or on the field, they brought warmth,
encouragement, and happiness wherever they went; and
WHEREAS, Ava Olivia Derbecker and Faris Vincent Derbecker will long be remembered
for their love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the
great fortune of knowing them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Ava Olivia Derbecker and
Faris Vincent Derbecker and express their deepest and most sincere regret at their passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the
family of Ava Olivia Derbecker and Faris Vincent Derbecker.
