Habersham has been a leading advocate for economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community advancement throughout Middle Georgia, dedicating his life and career to expanding opportunities for African American businesses and strengthening the region's economic foundation; and WHEREAS, in 1991, Mr. Habersham founded the Macon-Middle Georgia Black Pages, a groundbreaking publication established to address the critical need for greater visibility, access, and opportunity for Black-owned businesses throughout Central Georgia; and WHEREAS, over the past 35 years, the Macon-Middle Georgia Black Pages has evolved into a trusted and respected regional resource, connecting residents, entrepreneurs, corporations, and community organizations while serving as a catalyst for economic growth and increased circulation of dollars within the African American community; and WHEREAS, through its consistent promotion of local businesses, the publication has helped countless entrepreneurs gain exposure, expand their customer base, achieve long-term sustainability, and contribute meaningfully to the economic vitality of the region; and H. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Alex C. Habersham upon the 35th Anniversary of the Macon-Middle Georgia Black Pages for his extraordinary contributions to economic empowerment, business development, and community advancement throughout Middle Georgia.
