## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Senate resolution formally notifies the Georgia House of Representatives that the Senate has convened for a special session and is ready to conduct business.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution is a routine procedural step used when the Georgia General Assembly opens a special legislative session. It directs the Secretary of the Senate to send official notice to the House of Representatives that the Senate has convened and is ready to begin transacting legislative business.
The resolution does not change any Georgia law, create any program, or affect anyone outside the legislature. It simply documents an internal step in the process of starting the special session so that both chambers can proceed with their work.

### What it does

- Instructs the Secretary of the Senate to notify the House of Representatives that the Senate has convened.
- States that the Senate is ready for the transaction of business in the special session.

### Who it affects

This resolution affects only the internal operations of the Georgia General Assembly, specifically the Secretary of the Senate and the House of Representatives, which receives the formal notice.

### Why it matters

This is a housekeeping measure that keeps the two chambers coordinated at the start of a special session. It does not change law or affect the public, but it is a necessary formal step before the Senate and House can begin conducting legislative business together.

### Key provisions

- The resolution's single operative clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to notify the House of Representatives that the Senate has convened and is ready for business.
