26 LC 112 3693 House Resolution 1003 By: Representatives Jones of the 143rd, Herring of the 145th, McQueen of the 61st, McClain of the 109th, and Berry of the 56th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Ms. Earnestine Denise Wilson; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Ms. Earnestine Denise Wilson is a native of Macon, Georgia, who grew up in2 the South Macon community; and3 WHEREAS, after high school, Ms. Wilson attended Macon State Col lege to study Early4 Childhood Education, and she has taught pre-kindergarten children at Jonesco Academy as5 well as worked with the Joshua's House Program at Greater Littl e Rock Baptist Church,6 where she is a member; and7 WHEREAS, Ms. Wilson is a member of the Order of Eastern Star, C hapter 215, and she8 currently works in the Macon-Bibb County Sheriff's Department Information Center and is9 involved with both the Macon Bibb County Democratic Party and Macon-Bibb NAACP; and10 WHEREAS, in 2015, Ms. Wilson addressed Governor Nathan Deal on the issue of mass11 incarceration at the Georgia State Capitol; in 2016, she organi zed a Prayer Peace Rally at12 Little Rock Baptist Church; and in 2018, she led a Prayer Vigil to reconcile differences13 between the community and the Bibb Sheriff's Department after t he shooting of Matthew14 Duncan; and15 H. R. 1003 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3693 WHEREAS, in 2018, Ms. Wilson traveled to Elmina, Ghana, Africa, and visited various16 major historic sites then returned a year later and founded Ope ration Soft Book, donating17 over 100 books and learning materials to local schools in Elmina, and she was introduced to18 the Queen Mother Nana Tseasewaa Il by former Macon Mayor C. Jack Ellis; and19 WHEREAS, Queen Mother Nana Tseasewaa Il was so impressed with Ms. Wilson's outreach20 to benefit the local children that she decided to adopt her into her family, where she would21 receive all the rights as her family members and was given land in Elmina; and22 WHEREAS, on March 1, 2019, after consulting with the royal family and the ancestors of23 Elmina, Queen Mother Nana Tseasewaa Il informed Ms. Wilson that she had been chosen24 and found worthy to be the Queen Mother of Development and given the name Nana Adowa25 Kodwuwa Il, after the Queen Mother Tseasewaa's grandmother; and26 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le Georgian be27 appropriately honored by this body.28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that29 the members of this body recognize and commend Ms. Earnestine D enise Wilson for her30 decades of professional excellence and steadfast commitment to service.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ms.33 Earnestine Denise Wilson.34 H.
