A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Mr. Ricky D. "Rick" Bailey; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Mr. Ricky D. "Rick" Bailey received his reward of Heav en, and the State of2
Georgia lost a kind and caring husband, father, papa, brother, and friend whose life of faith3
and service touched countless individuals; and4
WHEREAS, born in Holly Springs and a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, Rick lived5
out his strong Christian faith from an early age; saved at New Light Church and later a6
member of Canton First United Methodist Church, he enjoyed Bibl e studies and carried a7
spirit of humility, compassion, and service throughout his life; and8
WHEREAS, Rick was a proud graduate of Holly Springs Elementary, Cherokee High9
School, and Reinhardt Univers ity; in high school, he was select ed by his peers as10
Homecoming King and Best All Around. Additionally his skill on the basketball court earned11
him the nickname "Chick," as his talent and demeanor reminded all who knew him of John12
Havlicek; and13

WHEREAS, Rick met the love of his life, Linda, as a teenager, b eginning a lifelong love14
story; together they raised four daughters and built a home fil led with devotion, joy, and15
unwavering support; and16
WHEREAS, Rick began his career as a health and life insurance a gent and later founded17
Rick Bailey & Company, where his daughters joined him in the family business; and 18
WHEREAS, he earned multiple professional designations and serve d in leadership roles19
within state, regional, and national insurance organizations; and20
WHEREAS, his contributions to the insurance profession were widely recognized, including21
state and national awards for service and leadership; in his honor, the Atlanta Association of22
Health Underwriters established the Rick Bailey Membership Award; and23
WHEREAS, known for his love of people, Rick offered wise advice, listened with sincere24
interest, and encouraged others to "enjoy today" and "learn som ething new each day"; his25
warm personality, steady presence, and uplifting spirit were felt by everyone around him; and26
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that this distinguished Georgian be remembered for his27
faith, kindness, and lifelong dedication to family, community, and profession.28
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body29
honor the life and memory of Mr. Ricky D. "Rick" Bailey and ext end their deepest30
condolences to his family and friends.31

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed32
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Mr.33
Ricky D. "Rick" Bailey.34
