26 LC 129 0506 Senate Resolution 566 By: Senators Albers of the 56th, Robertson of the 29th, Still of the 48th, Gooch of the 51st, Dickerson of the 21st and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 11, 2026, as Police Chiefs and Head of Law Enforcement Agencies1 Recognition Day at the Capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in the State of Georgia, there are more than 700 police chiefs and heads of law3 enforcement agencies who provide a critical service, managing approximately 45,000 sworn4 peace officers; and5 WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police is an organization of honorable men6 and women dedicated to the preservation of life and property of Georgia citizens in a7 professional and ethical manner; and8 WHEREAS, these brave law enforcement leaders provide public service above and beyond9 the call of duty, often at great personal risk and tremendous sacrifice, not only to themselves,10 but also to their families; and11 WHEREAS, from the time of their initial police chief’s training , provided by the Georgia12 Association of Chiefs of Police, and throughout their careers, each member has demonstrated13 continuous loyalty to the call to serve and has combined and in creased their public safety14 effectiveness through cooperation with state, county, and local government officials; and15 S. R. 566 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0506 WHEREAS, police chiefs and heads of law enforcement agencies of Georgia support the16 continuous elevation of standards and training of law enforcement managers and have been17 instrumental in increasing the public’s awareness of methods for avoiding being victims of18 crime; and19 WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that the police chiefs and heads of law enforcement20 agencies of Georgia be recognized for their many personal sacri fices as well as their21 outstanding and courageous contributions to the citizens of the state.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23 recognize February 11, 2026, as Police Chiefs and Head of Law E nforcement Agencies24 Recognition Day at the Capitol.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Chief Anita Allen,27 President of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, and A.
