A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Alpharetta Public Safety Director John Robison as Georgia's1
2025 Outstanding Police Chief of the Year; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Director Robison began his career in 2002 with the Alp haretta Police3
Department and subsequently was hired by the Powder Springs Police Department in 2014,4
becoming Chief of Police in 2015; and5
WHEREAS, he was appointed to the position of Director of Public Safety for the City of6
Alpharetta in 2017; and7
WHEREAS, Director Robison earned a Doctor of Public Administration from Valdosta State8
University, a Master of Justice Administration from Columbus State University, a Master of9
Divinity from New Or leans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a B achelor of Science in10
Criminal Justice from Georgia State University; and11
WHEREAS, Director Robison serves as a professor at Georgia Stat e University and12
Reinhardt University, providing instruction to and investing in the next generation of law13
enforcement leaders with passion and purpose; and14

WHEREAS, Director Robison is the author of Compelling Force Leadership: How Leaders15
Can Use Their Influence to Effectively Lead People with Purpose and Passion; and16
WHEREAS, Director Robison has reshaped the role of public safet y in Alpharetta by17
integrating a culture of trust, transparency, and compassion into everything the department18
does; and19
WHEREAS, in addition to his role as Public Safety Director, Director Robison was promoted20
to Assistant City Administrator in August 2025; and21
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the members o f this body show their22
gratitude for the positive impact that Director Robison has brought to the City of Alpharetta23
and to law enforcement leadership throughout the State of Georgia.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body25
recognize and commend the dedication and passion exhibited by Director John Robison in26
leading the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety and serving as an example and mentor27
for law enforcement leadership across the State of Georgia, and congratulate him upon his28
recognition as Georgia’s 2025 Outstanding Chief of the Year.29
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Alpharetta Public31
Safety Director John Robison.32
