A RESOLUTION
Recognizing January 26, 2026, as Georgia Association of Broadcasters Day; and for other1
purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters is comprised of an exemplary group3
of citizens who contribute to the general well-being of our state by informing the public and4
fostering insightful dialogue regarding the day's most pressing issues; and5
WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, the nation's first and oldest broadcast6
association, works diligently to represent the interests of local Georgia radio and television7
licensees and is comprised of over 400 broadcasters across the state; and8
WHEREAS, these local radio and television broadcasters play a vital role in times of great9
struggle, including natural disasters and severe weather events, providing critical information10
and guidance to keep communities safe; and11
WHEREAS, their service is equally essential during political election years, ensuring that12
citizens remain informed and engaged while promoting thoughtful discussion on issues of13
importance; and14

WHEREAS, through their roles as respected and trusted broadcast ers, members of the15
Georgia Association of Broadcasters positively impact our state and local communities.16
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17
the members of this body honor and commend the Georgia Association of Broadcasters for18
utilizing their roles as respected and well-known broadcasters and recognize January 26,19
2026, as Georgia Association of Broadcasters Day.20
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized21
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the22
Georgia Association of Broadcasters.23
