26 LC 129 0570 House Resolution 1017 By: Representatives Alexander of the 66th, Baker of the 64th, and New of the 40th A RESOLUTION Commending and congratulating Clara Dawson Jackson; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Clara Dawson Jackson was born on January 16, 1926, in Gallion, Alabama, and2 this year she enjoys the rare distinction of celebrating her 100th birthday; and3 WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding she has demonstrated have provided4 the foundation of success from which her family members have developed and flourished for5 three generations as evidenced by her seven wonderful daughters , nine outstanding6 grandchildren, and 21 exceptional great-grandchildren; and7 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high8 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens; and 9 WHEREAS, Clara Dawson Jackson possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through10 experience and the strength of character which is achieved thro ugh overcoming the many11 challenges of life; and12 WHEREAS, a resident of Douglasville, Georgia, she is a person of magnanimous strengths13 with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and14 H. R. 1017 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0570 WHEREAS, a kind and generous person, Clara Dawson Jackson brings joy and happiness15 to her family and to the many friends and neighbors who have the great pleasure of knowing16 her; and17 WHEREAS, by the example Clara Dawson Jackson has made of her li fe, she makes this18 world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately19 recognized during this very special and memorable time.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body commend Clara Dawson Jackson for her unselfish, dedicated, and22 loving service to the members of her family and community; cong ratulate her on the23 remarkable occasion of her 100th birthday; and extend their mos t sincere best wishes for24 continued health and happiness.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Clara27 Dawson Jackson.28 H.
