26 LC 129 0547 Senate Resolution 575 By: Senators Wicks of the 34th, Harbison of the 15th, Mangham of the 55th, Howard of the 35th, Harrell of the 40th and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Deputy Joe Crumpton; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Deputy Joe Crumpton on December 9, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Deputy Joe Crumpton served his community for over two years as a member4 of the Spalding County Sheriff’s O ffice, where he was part of t he Detention Division and5 held the role of transport officer; and6 WHEREAS, he further served as a guardian of this nation’s freed om and liberty with the7 United States Army, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans; and8 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Rose, and was blessed to be the9 father of seven wonderful children; and 10 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern11 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his12 family and friends were admired by others; and13 S. R. 575 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0547 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation14 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he15 made this world a better place in which to live; and16 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Deputy Joe Crumpton will long be17 remembered for his inspiring commitment to the welfare of others, which stands as a shining18 example of the positive effect law enforcement professionals ha ve on the lives and well-19 being of others. 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 join in honoring the life and memory of Deputy Joe Crumpton and express their deepest and22 most sincere regret at his passing.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the family of25 Deputy Joe Crumpton.26 S.
