26 LC 129 0582 House Resolution 1025 By: Representative Carson of the 46th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Janice Dikilato; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Janice Dikilato on January 7, 2026; and3 WHEREAS, Janice Dikilato was born on October 4, 1937, in Statesboro, Georgia, a beloved4 daughter of Bernard and Marie Smith; and5 WHEREAS, affectionately known as “Big Mama,” Janice Dikilato will be remembered for6 her warmth, generosity, humor, and unmatched love of Christmas; and7 WHEREAS, she was united in love and marriage to her husband, Ernest “Diki” Dikilato, and8 was blessed with two remarkable children, Benny and Nancy; and five wonderful9 grandchildren, Nathan, Daniel, Sara, Alexandra, and Geana; and10 WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern11 for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and unders tanding she demonstrated to12 her family and friends were admired by others; and13 H. R. 1025 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0582 WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation14 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,15 she made this world a better place in which to live; and16 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Janice Dikilato will long be remembered17 for her love of family, friendship, and community and will be m issed by all who had the18 great fortune of knowing her.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Janice Dikilato and express21 their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the24 family of Janice Dikilato.25 H.
