26 LC 129 0530 House Resolution 1041 By: Representatives Byrd of the 20th, Fincher of the 23rd, Jasperse of the 11th, Ridley of the 22nd, and Scoggins of the 14th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Rick Roberts on his outstanding public service as the Mayor1 of Ball Ground; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Rick Roberts has long been recognized by the citizens of Ball Ground, Georgia,3 for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the4 welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced7 dramatically by his superlative service as the mayor of Ball Ground; and8 WHEREAS, under his leadership the city has flourished; initiatives including the addition9 of a public library in the downtown area, expansion of the city wide water capacity and10 sanitary sewer systems, and construction of both a new city hall and elementary school will11 leave a lasting impact on the area; and12 WHEREAS, Rick Roberts' significant organizational and leadershi p talents, remarkable13 patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of14 H. R. 1041 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0530 Ball Ground have earned him the respect and admiration of his c olleagues and associates;15 and16 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high17 ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom18 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er achieved through19 overcoming the many challenges of life; and20 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for21 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and22 WHEREAS, Rick Roberts has served with honor and distinction as the Mayor of Ball23 Ground, and his vision and unyielding commitment to excellence will be sorely missed upon24 his retirement; and25 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this26 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body recognize and commend Rick Roberts for his efficient, effective,29 unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia ; congratulate him upon the30 grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere b est wishes for continued31 health and happiness.32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized33 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Rick34 Roberts.35 H.
