26 LC 56 0482 Senate Bill 421 By: Senators Kemp of the 38th, Echols of the 49th, Howard of th e 35th, Still of the 48th, Jones II of the 22nd and others A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Chapter 80 of Title 36 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to1 general provisions applicable to counties, municipal corporations, and other governmental2 entities, so as to prohibit local governments, authorities, and political subdivisions from3 entering into nondisclosure agreements regarding electricity us age or water usage of any4 entity; to provide for a short title; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws;5 and for other purposes.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:7 SECTION 1.8 This Act shall be known and may be cited as "The Data Center Transparency Act."9 SECTION 2.10 Chapter 80 of Title 36 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotate d, relating to general11 provisions applicable to counties, municipal corporations, and other governmental entities,12 is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:13 S. B. 421 - 1 - 26 LC 56 0482 "36-80-32.14 No county, municipal corporation, authority, or other political subdivision of this state shall15 enter into any nondisclosure agreement or other similar contrac t which prohibits such16 county, municipal corporation, authority, or other political su bdivision from disclosing17 information related to the electricity usage or water usage, ei ther consumptive or18 nonconsumptive, of any entity."19 SECTION 3.20 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.21 S.
