A RESOLUTION
Honoring His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo; and for1
other purposes.2
WHEREAS, His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo was3
born on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1933, on Victoria Island, Lagos State, to the family of the4
late Dickson Adeleye Alogbo and Maria Ojubomo Alogbo; and5
WHEREAS, growing up he was surrounded by music as his father wa s the choirmaster at6
Hoare Methodist Church; and7
WHEREAS, in 1959, while working with the Nigeria Railway Corporation in Zaria. as fate8
would have it, he heard the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church choir singing a hymn9
he had composed during his time as a member of the choir of Uni ted Methodist African10
Church; and11
WHEREAS, this marked the beginning of his spi ritual journey and contributions to the12
church's music ministry as well as his faith driven and devoted membership to the Cherubim13
and Seraphim Movement Church; and14

WHEREAS, in 1960, Brother Emmanuel Alogbo returned to Lagos where he was inspired15
by God and established the first branch of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church16
in Lagos, the south of the River Niger, thereby becoming the ar chitect of the founding17
Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church in Southern Nigeria; and18
WHEREAS, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo introduced innovations that greatly19
enriched worship in the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church i ncluding bringing a20
dance-music style to services; and 21
WHEREAS, on September 20, 2025, His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr) Emmanuel Abiodun22
Adewale Alogbo was appointed the Supreme Head (Olori) and assum ed the leadership of23
Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria (otherwise known as Unification) -24
an umbrella body for all Cherubim and Seraphim Churches all over the world.25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26
honor His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo and extend27
sincere best wishes for his continued health and happiness.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to His Most30
Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo31
