26 LC 129 0546 Senate Resolution 619 By: Senators Wicks of the 34th, Harrell of the 40th, Harbin of the 16th, James of the 28th and Parent of the 44th A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Niki Vanderslice for receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki1 T. Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the fi rst African American3 female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of4 service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia5 Women's Legislative Caucus; and6 WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative7 Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify th e leadership and8 inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and9 WHEREAS, Niki Vanderslice is a seasoned leader in community and economic10 development, currently serving as President and CEO of the Fayette County Development11 Authority in Georgia; and12 WHEREAS, her career spans roles such as Executive Director of Business Development for13 the Technical College System of Georgia’s Quick Start program, Senior Community14 Development Consultant at Georgia EMC, Director of Governmental Relations at the15 S. R. 619 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0546 Georgia Department of Community Affairs, as well as Downtown Development Director for16 Valdosta and Douglas, Georgia; and17 WHEREAS, she further serves her community in leadership roles with the Abraham Baldwin18 Agricultural College Foundation Board and the Fayette Chamber o f Commerce Board of19 Directors; and20 WHEREAS, Niki Vanderslice has established a glowing reputation of renown throughout21 Georgia for her commitment to fostering sustainable growth and enhancing quality of life for22 the citizens of Fayette County; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this24 extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26 congratulate and commend Niki Vanderslice for receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki T.27 Randall Servant Leadership Award and extend best wishes for her continued success.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Niki Vanderslice.30 S.
