HR1100: HR1100 Carroll County Superior Courts; commend

26 LC 129 0709 House Resolution 1100 By: Representative Smith of the 18th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Carroll County Superior Courts; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the Carroll County Superior Courts have consistently demonstrated excellence2 in the administration of justice, fairness of proceedings, and efficient and timely processing3 of cases; and4 WHEREAS, the Administrative Office of the Courts recently conducted a statewide analysis5 of how efficiently Superior Courts dispose of cases, and Carroll County ranked among the6 best in Georgia; and7 WHEREAS, the Carroll County Superior Court cleared cases at an impressive rate of 114.118 percent, placing Carroll County at the top statewide in efficiency and timely access to justice;9 and10 WHEREAS, in addition to the courts’ outstanding efficiency rankings, Judge Hightower's11 Drug Court was just named a Model Court, Judge Blackmon is lead ing a county-wide12 initiative on school attendance, Child Support Recovery is rank ed number one among 5613 districts statewide, and in less than one year their Veterans T reatment Court has grown to14 become the second largest in the state; and15 H. R. 1100 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0709 WHEREAS, the Carroll County Superi or Courts are dedicated to co ntinued growth and16 improvement through new and innovative initiatives including a collaboration with the17 University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute and the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program;18 and19 WHEREAS, the Carroll County Superior Courts have set a standard of excellence for courts20 across the state of Georgia, making it abundantly proper to rec ognize the outstanding21 leadership, innovation, and dedication of the judges and court partners that have ensured22 justice in Carroll County is both fair and efficient. 23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend the judges, employees, and community25 partners of the Carroll County Superior Courts.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28 Carroll County Superior Courts.29 H.
