26 LC 129 0737 House Resolution 1078 By: Representative Jones of the 60th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Reverend John G. Byrdsell on the occasion of his 5th pastoral1 anniversary; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Reverend John G. Byrdsell has demonstrated his commitment to teaching the3 Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical,4 psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and5 WHEREAS, Reverend John G. Byrdsell was called by the Lord five years ago to lead the6 congregation of Concord Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia; and 7 WHEREAS, prior to his calling to serve Concord Baptist Church, Reverend John G. Byrdsell8 served as an Associate Minister at Antioch Baptist Church North for 21 years; and9 WHEREAS, his vision and direction have helped Concord Baptist Church grow in size and10 influence, uplifting the community like the light of Bethlehem and serving as a spiritual11 leader and place for fellowship; and12 H. R. 1078 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0737 WHEREAS, over the past five years leading Concord Baptist Churc h, Reverend John G.13 Byrdsell has established numerous programs and workshops which have improved the14 spiritual and educational growth of the church and the surrounding community; and15 WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the s ick, counseling the16 troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or17 humanitarian, Reverend John G. Byrdsell serves as a shining exa mple of God's righteous18 path; and19 WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Reverend John G. Byrdsell is a20 source of strength and direction for persons in all walks of life; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message22 of peace and love be recognized and congratulated for his innumerable good works rendered23 on behalf of persons in need.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body recognize and commend Reverend John G. Byrdsell on the26 wonderful occasion of his 5th pastoral anniversary and extend b est wishes for many more27 years of successful fellowship and leadership.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to30 Reverend John G.
