26 LC 129 0712 Senate Resolution 613 By: Senators Wicks of the 34th, Davenport of the 17th, Harrell of the 40th, James of the 28th and Parent of the 44th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Gail B. Hambrick; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Gail B. Hambrick has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the2 vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare3 of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,5 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced6 dramatically by her superlative service as Clayton County Commissioner for District 2; and7 WHEREAS, a Clayton County resident of more than 30 years and life long public servant8 in the state of Geogia, Commissioner Hambrick is deeply rooted in and steadfastly9 committed to the communities she serves, including portions of College Park, Forest Park,10 and Riverdale; and11 WHEREAS, Commissioner Hambrick has served with honor and distin ction, and her12 unwavering dedication to advancing initiatives that strengthen public safety, infrastructure,13 and community engagement have set the standard for public service; and14 S. R. 613 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0712 WHEREAS, under her guided hand, Clayton County has expanded nei ghborhood watch15 groups; strengthened emergency response to fires, flooding, and extreme weather events; and16 increased community connections through her signature events such as the Back to School17 Bash, Hispanic Heritage Festival, June Jam, and many other community-focused initiatives;18 and19 WHEREAS, her exemplary leadership and service has been recogniz ed with numerous20 prestigious awards and honors including the Unsung Hero Award from the State Legislative21 Black Caucus; and 22 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to honor the outst anding leadership, keen23 sense of vision, and dedication represented by Commissioner Hambrick.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body25 recognize and commend Gail B. Hambrick for her service as Clayton County Commissioner26 for District 2 and extend sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and success.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed28 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Gail B.
