A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending John Davis upon 32 years of dedicated service to the City of1
Norcross and the State of Georgia; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia is honored to pay tribute to John Davis, who personifies3
the true meaning of a “Public Servant” and whose compassion and genuine commitment to4
the City of Norcross Georgia and its citizens is a source of inspiration to everyone; and5
WHEREAS, John moved to Norcross, Georgia, in 1991, and began his career in government6
in 1992 as an Equipment Operator; and 7
WHEREAS, known for his hard work, dedication, and initiative, h e quickly advanced in8
promotions, retiring as the Superintendent of Public Works, cul minating a 32-year9
exceptional career; and10
WHEREAS, John advanced his career to accumulate an impressive list of honors including11
Employee of the Year, obtaining American Public Works Association Certified Manager and12
Georgia Department of Transportation program certifications, and receiving multiple other13
awards and recognition for sustained, outstanding performance; and14

WHEREAS, John was not only a public servant in city government, but he was also a15
resident of Norcross, Georgia; and 16
WHEREAS, he was always available and willing to go above and beyond for any task; he17
was known as the man who got things done; and 18
WHEREAS, John was involved in his community both as a governmen t leader and a19
concerned citizen as well as a mentor and trusted advisor; and20
WHEREAS, John always put the greater good of the community ahea d of personal21
consideration, and earned the affection of his fellow public se rvants who are proud to call22
him a friend and the admiration of those with whom he came into contact; and23
WHEREAS, John is unique in his sensitivity for doing what is best for the entire community,24
and he has worked constantly for the betterment of efficient, r eliable, and resilient25
infrastructure that supports the community's needs and enhances quality of life for all26
residents; and27
WHEREAS, through all these various endeavors, he has won the hi ghest regard of all his28
associates and the admiration of citizens throughout the community; it is abundantly fitting29
and proper that this remarkable public servant be appropriately honored.30
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that31
the members of this body recognize and commend John Davis for h is many outstanding32
contributions on behalf of the citizens of this state as well a s extend best wishes for his33
continued success.34

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized35
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to John36
Davis.37
