26 LC 129 0710 House Resolution 1089 By: Representative Smith of the 18th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Major Craig Dodson; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Major Craig Dodson has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for2 the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep pe rsonal commitment to the3 welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, Major Dodson has served with honor and distinction with the Carroll County5 Sheriff’s Department for 35 years; and6 WHEREAS, throughout his career, Major Dodson has served in numerous specialized and7 leadership roles, including his work in K-9 and Special Operations, the Patrol Division, and8 later his promotion to Major in 2003, where he has overseen Patrol, CID, Court Services, and9 Training, among many others; and10 WHEREAS, he also serves as Director of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office of Emergency11 Management and continues to contribute to community safety thro ugh his work on the12 Emergency Shelter Board, the CASA Board, threat assessment initiatives, fraud prevention13 programs, the School District Safety Team, and various Active S hooter and Community14 Safety Programs; and15 H. R. 1089 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0710 WHEREAS, he is highly regarded by the citizens of his community and by state and local16 government officials as a man of unquestioned integrity and dedication to the administration17 of justice and sound principles of law enforcement; and18 WHEREAS, this spirited law enforcement professional has exhibited extraordinary devotion19 to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all of his20 duties; and21 WHEREAS, his inspiring commitment to the welfare of others is an outstanding example of22 the positive effect law enforcement professionals have on the lives and well-being of others;23 and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unique and25 often unheralded contributions of local law enforcement profess ionals on behalf of the26 citizens of this state.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body recognize and commend Major Craig Dodson, congratulate him29 upon 35-years of service, and extend sincere best wishes for his continued health, happiness,30 and success.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Major33 Craig Dodson.34 H.
