26 LC 129 0520 Senate Resolution 599 By: Senator Rhett of the 33rd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the City of Austell; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the City of Austell, founded in 1885, has played and i mportant role in the2 growth and development of the State of Georgia; and3 WHEREAS, historically recognized as a therapeutic city and famously known as a natural4 health resort, the city boasts a serene, picturesque setting of parks and oak trees making it an5 ideal place for both visitors and residents; and6 WHEREAS, located 18 miles west of Atlanta, Austell is a signifi cant station division7 terminal, hosting several trains and transferring countless passengers each day; and8 WHEREAS, the City of Austell provides unique and advanced oppor tunities by meeting9 current and future needs of those living in, doing business with, and visiting the city; and10 WHEREAS, Austell is known for its commitment to accountability, understanding,11 stewardship, trust, efficiency, loyalty, and leadership, reflecting the highest ideals of the State12 of Georgia; and13 S. R. 599 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0520 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng citizens, leaders, and14 employees of the City of Austell are appropriately recognized. 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body16 recognize and commend the City of Austell for its continued his torical, economic, and17 cultural contributions to the State of Georgia.18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed19 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the20 press.21 S.
