26 LC 129 0521 Senate Resolution 600 By: Senator Rhett of the 33rd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Mayor and City Council of the City of Mableton; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the City of Mableton is governed by the Mayor and six Councilmembers, who3 together form the city’s dedicated legislative and policy-making body; and4 WHEREAS, in 2023, Mayor Michael Owens made history as the first mayor of Mableton5 since its incorporation; and6 WHEREAS, as the City’s top elected official, Mayor Owens selfle ssly leads with a7 commitment to innovation, transparency, and service to all residents; and8 WHEREAS, Mableton’s City Council is comprised of Councilman Ron Davis, Councilman9 Michael McNeely, Mayor Pro Tem Keisha Jeffcoat, Councilwoman Ca ssandra Brown,10 Councilman T.J. Ferguson, and Councilwoman Debora Herndon; and11 WHEREAS, together the Council is responsible for setting the ci ty’s vision, adopting12 ordinances, approving the budget, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality public services;13 and14 S. R. 600 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0521 WHEREAS, these community leaders have conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of15 their time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of the City of Mableton and the State16 of Georgia; and17 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the dedicated , selfless work of these18 public servants is appropriately recognized.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 recognize and commend the Mayor and City Council of the City of Mableton for their21 outstanding contributions to the State of Georgia.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed23 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the24 press.25 S.
