26 LC 129 0722 House Resolution 1077 By: Representatives McDonald III of the 26th, Cox of the 28th, Jasperse of the 11th, Jones of the 25th, and Barrett of the 24th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Steve Miller; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Steve Miller has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital2 role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the education of3 the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,5 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as evidenced6 dramatically by his over 30 years of service to public education; and7 WHEREAS, Steve began his esteemed career teaching at Fair Stree t Elementary School,8 where he quickly discovered his love for public education; and 9 WHEREAS, over the next three decades, Steve held prestigious positions including assistant10 principal at Gainesville Middle School, assistant principal and principal at Buford High11 School, principal of Mashburn Elementary School, and principal of Otwell Middle School;12 and13 H. R. 1077 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0722 WHEREAS, under his guiding hand, Otwell Middle School was named Best Middle School14 of the Year by the Best of Forsyth for multiple years in a row; and 15 WHEREAS, his outstanding leadership has been recognized by many awards and honors16 such as Forsyth’s Best Schools Administrator of the Year and Ge orgia Thespian17 Administrator of the Year; and 18 WHEREAS, Steve Miller retired from Forsyth County Schools in Ma y of 2025, and now19 serves as Dean of Students at the Marist School; and 20 WHEREAS, Steve Miller, his wife of 32 years, Tammy, and their 1 2 children are proud21 members of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and are pillars in the Forsyth County22 community.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Steve Miller for his efficient, effective,25 unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere26 best wishes for continued health and happiness.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Steve29 Miller.30 H.
