26 LC 112 3710 House Resolution 1088 By: Representatives Cox of the 28th, Barrett of the 24th, Jasperse of the 11th, McDonald III of the 26th, Jones of the 25th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing the West Forsyth High School Boys Cross Country Team for winning the 20251 Georgia High School Association Class 6A State Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the West Forsyth High School Boys Cross Country Team r epresented West3 Forsyth High School in the 2025 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class 6A cross4 country season; and5 WHEREAS, the team demonstrated exceptional endurance, competiti ve discipline, and6 strategic excellence throughout the 2025 regular season and state championship series; and7 WHEREAS, at the 2025 GHSA Class 6A State Championship meet held in Carrollton, the8 West Forsyth Boys Cross Country Team secured the GHSA 6A State Title, marking the9 program's first state championship in school history; and10 WHEREAS, the championship performance was led by student-athletes Sena Hosu, Cooper11 Thomas, Hanniel Soosaidas, Om Jagtap, Matthew Prouty, Nick Bign on, and Cody Guion,12 whose collective effort produced a dominant team showing; and13 H. R. 1088 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3710 WHEREAS, the leadership of Head Coach Clayton Tillery and assis tant coaches Jason14 Wayne, Sarah Loftus, and Scott Griffith was instrumental in gui ding the athletes to peak15 performance throughout the season; and16 WHEREAS, this historic accomplishment stands as a testament to the dedication of the17 student-athletes, the commitment of the coaching staff, and the strong support of the West18 Forsyth community; and19 WHEREAS, the team has brought great pride to West Forsyth High School, Forsyth County,20 and the State of Georgia through their example of sportsmanship , perseverance, and21 excellence.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend the West Forsyth High School Boys Cross24 Country Team for winning the 2025 Georgia High School Associati on Class 6A State25 Championship and congratulate them for their outstanding athletic achievement.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to West28 Forsyth High School and the West Forsyth Boys Cross Country Team.29 H.
