26 LC 129 0623 House Resolution 1074 By: Representative Jackson of the 128th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Toni Redd; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, songstress Toni Redd is an intense and powerful R&B, contemporary smooth2 jazz, and classical soul vocalist who captivates listeners with her unique and distinct3 powerful sound; and4 WHEREAS, while growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Toni Redd developed a love for music5 as well as studied the guitar and singing; and6 WHEREAS, she is a gifted songwriter whose international debut C D “Straight From the7 Heart,” continues to receive positive reviews and attract new audiences; and8 WHEREAS, Toni is a routinely featured artist at various jazz fe stivals including the Maui9 Music Festival, The Atlanta Jazz Festival and The Tom Joyner Fo undation FANTASTIC10 Voyage Cruise; and11 WHEREAS, she has received numerous awards including the prestigious Black Women in12 Jazz Award, Best Jazz Artist 2014, Best Music Video 2014, and won Lady Soul of Jazz in13 2015 and14 H. R. 1074 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0623 WHEREAS, Toni Redd is an all-around artist with live performanc es that mesmerize and15 captivate her audience with high intensity and erupting energy.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17 the members of this body recognize and commend Toni Redd for a lifetime of musical18 impact and extend best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and success.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized20 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Toni21 Redd.22 H.
